8070 Generac introduced three new light towers with durable LED fixtures, as well as generators, pumps and dust suppressors, at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

The new light towers – ML T6SMD, PL T240 LINK Tower and ML T4060M VD – come equipped with four 240-watt LED lights, each with a five-year warranty. The LED light fixtures are highly durable to withstand extreme weather and environment conditions, says the company. In a video shown on the Generac booth, the company demonstrated an LED fixture undergoing rigorous testing, including submersion in water, crushing and being shot with a rifle – the undamaged lights continued to work after two were penetrated by bullets.

The Generac Dust Fighter range offers a choice of 10 dust control units differing in performance and size of the area covered by the nebulized water (mist) flush.  Applications include demolition, mining, aggregate production or recycling, and odour suppression in waste dumps. The smallest units, DF Mini and DF Mini Duo, are suitable for asbestos removal and can be used for indoor works.

The company also showed some of its portable range of diesel generators, including the MM G451 F4 and XD5000.

Milling techniques remain one of the most widely used recycling methods Well-proven, cold milling techniques remain one of the most widely used methods for materials recycling in road construction. Milled road materials can be cleaned up and re-used in both asphalt and concrete highway construction. German firm Wirtgen has long dominated the market for road milling machines and has the largest share of the sector (as well as the broadest product range), although other firms based in Europe and the US are be

Sun Valley Lighting has developed an efficient, long-life lighting package for its successful turn-of-the-century streetlights. These can now be equipped with VLED optical modules for energy-efficient LED performance. The VLED modules use Philips/Lumileds Luxeon Rebel emitters and are said to deliver full-spectrum illumination while minimising light pollution and glare. The firm offers an array of traditional-styled luminaires with VLED modules, including the lantern-style Sigma fixture. The VLED module ref
