Elliott product serves as material handling aerial platform

Elliott Equipment unveiled a “two-in-one” long-reach aerial at Conexpo 2014 on Thursday. The E160 e-line material handling aerial work platform features a 64m working height, high-capacity work platform and a seated rotating control station mounted on a commercial truck or track vehicle carrier. “It’s a material handling, aerial platform,” said David Phillips, manager of global business development and marketing at Elliott. “It’s a two-in-one solution.” The aerial is designed for utility and construction

3026 Elliott Equipment unveiled a “two-in-one” long-reach aerial at Conexpo 2014 on Thursday.

“It’s a two-in-one solution.”

The aerial is designed for utility and construction work requiring greater vertical reach, equipment reliability and functionality. The aerial was designed to be ANSI 92.2 compliant, which eliminates the ANSI B30.5 “test pick” requirement when using a crane with a basket.

The full working height is reached by utilising a 9.7-16.7m telescopic jib on the side of the 49m telescopic five-section boom. The aerial is controlled from either the lower seated control station or within the platform using Elliott’s proportional wireless remotes with integrated LMI display.

For material handling, the E160 includes a 6,800kg capacity main winch with corrosion-proof synthetic rope for reduced weight. A two-stage outrigger system reduces set-up times and cribbing.

The E160 can be mounted on a conventional truck chassis or a track carrier.

Kobelco used INTERMAT for the European introduction of its G series CKE range of crawler cranes –displaying the CKE2500G and the CKE800G, with lifting capacities of 250tonnes and 80tonnes respectively. Both benefit from lower fuel consumption of up to 25% partly attributed to their Stage IIIB engines having an auto idle stop (which cuts the engine if it is idling and automatically re-starts it as soon as a control is touched) and the G Winch that retains its winching speed even if the engine revs are reduce
