The owner fitted new lithium ion batteries to replace the original lead acid type units, as well as a much more powerful motor. Nicknamed the Flux Capacitor after the DeLorean sports car in the Back to the Future films, the modified Enfield 8000 is thought to be the fastest street legal, all-electric vehicle in the world. The Enfield 8000 features a tubular chassis frame with aluminium body panels. It has suspension parts from the British Hillman Imp, doors adapted from a Mini and a rear axle derived from a Reliant three-wheeler.
