Eight lives left

A van driver using a busy motorway in the UK was surprised when several other motorists flashed their headlights at her. She soon discovered however that there was reason for their behaviour as the other drivers had spotted a cat clinging to the roof of her vehicle.

A van driver using a busy motorway in the UK was surprised when several other motorists flashed their headlights at her. She soon discovered however that there was reason for their behaviour as the other drivers had spotted a cat clinging to the roof of her vehicle. The van was carrying ladders on its roof, to which the terrified animal was clinging. An internet appeal soon found the owners and the cat was returned unharmed though perhaps a little wiser for its 35km motorway journey.

    Road users in one Chinese city had something of a fright when a giant inflatable, painted to look like the moon, blew away during high winds. The massive balloon rolled across busy multi-lane roads and junctions before it could be halted.     A cyclist in the UK has been sought after a very close call at a rail crossing. The barriers had dropped and warning lights were flashing when the cyclist rode up on his bicycle.
