Eight lives left

A van driver using a busy motorway in the UK was surprised when several other motorists flashed their headlights at her. She soon discovered however that there was reason for their behaviour as the other drivers had spotted a cat clinging to the roof of her vehicle.

A van driver using a busy motorway in the UK was surprised when several other motorists flashed their headlights at her. She soon discovered however that there was reason for their behaviour as the other drivers had spotted a cat clinging to the roof of her vehicle. The van was carrying ladders on its roof, to which the terrified animal was clinging. An internet appeal soon found the owners and the cat was returned unharmed though perhaps a little wiser for its 35km motorway journey.

The numbers killed dropped by 7-8%, although the final figures for December are not yet available. The youth travelled with his mother in a Chrysler Crossfire sportscar towards the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack, to take part in an open day. Even on its way to the track, the car was clocked for speeding along a restricted section of Autobahn.
