8095 GSSI is now offering a compact ground penetrating radar (GPR) package. The StructureScan Mini XT is the newest generation of the firm’s proven concrete inspection GPR system. To instruct users on how to get the best from the unit, the company is offering a short instruction video. The video segments include: getting started with simple steps to get the StructureScan Mini XT up and running; how to use the StructureScan Mini XT LineTrac accessory, which adds the ability to detect AC power and induced RF energy present in conduits. They also include: working with the Palm XT miniaturised GPR antenna in tightly spaced areas and for overhead scanning; setting the dielectric function for calibration and estimating accurate depths of subsurface targets; and collecting a 3D grid.

GSSI's new PaveScan unit can provide accurate real-time measurements and uncover problems that occur during the paving process, including poor uniformity and significant variations in density. By avoiding these problems, PaveScan RDM helps avoid premature failures from road ravelling, cracking, and deterioration along joints. PaveScan automatically measures the dielectric value to identify anomalies in real-time. In addition, the dielectric values can be used to as a means to correlate voids and density in
