Dynapac is offering a new electric paver

Dynapac is offering a new all-electric asphalt paver, the SD 25 80C e.  The firm claims that compared to diesel-powered machines, the new generation electric paver is more energy efficient. It also ensures improved air quality and up to 20% noise emission reduction, a key benefit for use in urban sites. The new SD and XD paver models are designed to have alternative drive options, with the SD25 80C e the first derivate of an emission free portfolio.

The Dynapac SD25 80C e is equipped with a 294kWh battery, using proven technology from the SD1800W e City Paver. The machine offers up to 235kW of power from five electric motors and can pave continuously for up to 8 hours.

The electric auger is up to 27% more energy-efficient while the electric conveyor is nearly 40% more efficient compared to conventional hydraulic drives. The machine is compatible with charging standards including DC fast charge with up to 235kW.

While connected to the grid, the Dynapac SD25 80C e can heat the screed directly using the Bypass feature without relying on its battery.

US style high production pavers are seeing key performance gains - Mike Woof reports. Exhaust emissions regulations and ever tougher safety requirements have pushed manufacturers to develop new and improved pavers aimed at the US market. The rivalry between manufacturers of these machines has also intensified. European manufacturers have developed their own US style pavers in recent years. BOMAG, Dynapac and Vögele have all designed machines using the benefit of their US engineering input in a bid to target

Paving machines vary considerably in North America compared with those units used elsewhere. On a worldwide basis, pavers with tamper bar screeds are popular having been developed in Europe and also favoured by Japanese and Chinese firms. But in the US the length of highways to be constructed resulted in a focus on high production pavers, which still continues today. North America and Latin America are key markets for these machines, with Australia being one of the few territories to employ both European an
