Effective dust control is claimed for the new skirting system from Superior

The new Skirting System retrofits to any brand of existing structure with little or no field fabrication. Two sets of adjustable legs aid in this universal installation. Additionally, easy to adjust clamping mechanisms are used in place of nuts and bolts to hold skirtboard rubber against the belt. An optional stilling zone is available to accelerate the settling of dust while material is moving inside the system. Superior’s Modular Skirting System is sold in 1.5m sections for conveyor belt widths up to 1.73m.

Innovative solutions are being applied to the construction of bridge structures as Patrick Smith reports. RMD Kwikform Iberica has engineered and supplied specialist formwork and falsework for construction of the much-needed Monteporreiro Viaduct in northern Spain. The viaduct will connect Monteporreiro with the Benedictine Monastery of San Bieito Lérez on the other side of the river, and in the process will ease congestion in the nearby town of Pontevedra, diverting some 5,000 vehicles/day.

Imaginative formwork, often using modular components, is helping to shape some challenging bridges worldwide. Patrick Smith reports Traffic volumes in and around Prague have swollen massively in recent years, pushing the existing road network to the limits of its capacity. To permanently ease congestion in the Czech capital's centre, a multi-lane orbital motorway is under construction as a high capacity bypass for central Prague and to link up all the motorways and other major highways radiating from the ci

The manufacturers says that the digital, self-diagnosing control unit allows independent adjustment of spinner and auger speeds, while convenient buttons offer easy control of the standard vibrator and optional accessories. It includes an auto reverse function to easily clear auger jams. The control requires only a single four-pin wire to enter the cab,
