In Brazil’s southern Parana State a number of motorists were alarmed to see a couple riding along on a motorcycle, while locked in a passionate embrace. The rider was paying minimal attention to the road in front of him while his girlfriend sat on his knee.

In Brazil’s southern Parana State a number of motorists were alarmed to see a couple riding along on a motorcycle, while locked in a passionate embrace. The rider was paying minimal attention to the road in front of him while his girlfriend sat on his knee. Instead, the two were filmed focused firmly on each other for around 60 seconds, while travelling at 80km/h in the outside lane of the highway and overtaking a series of other vehicles. The youngsters were not using protection. The rider’s helmet was slung over his arm while his girlfriend had no helmet at all.

    A report by the US Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) estimates that motorcyclist deaths increased around 9% in 2012, with over 5,000 killed.     In the US a kindhearted motorcyclist put her life at risk when she saw a kitten fall out of a vehicle while she waited at the traffic lights at a busy intersection. The woman rider ran forward from her motorcycle, gesturing at vehicles to stop so as to prevent the ginger kitten from being run over. The woman handed the kitten to a passerby before returning to her motorcycle and moving it to the side of the intersection. She then collected the animal and has since taken it home, renaming it Skidmarks.
