Nine machine operators from China and Russia were given 5316 SDLG’s Top Driver award during the Beijing International Construction and Machinery Exhibition & Seminar (2730 BICES). Six Chinese operators received the award, all of whom graduated with honours from the fifth Top Driver training programme, held at SDLG’s headquarters in Linyi, China.

Three Russian operators who emerged top of their class at the Top Driver Russia event also received their awards here. The full list of award recipients include: Yongnian He, Jian Pu, Jianrong Li, Jinrong Han, Zhenhua Zhang, Xiongtao Zuo, Sidenko Aleksei, Kiryachenko Denis and Loshmanov Evgenii.

“Over the past five years, the Top Driver campaign has helped operators improve their skillset, share best practices and promote the values of charity and sustainability in the construction industry,” said Wang Zhizhong, board chairman of SDLG. “The programme has travelled to several countries, including Russia and Thailand.” SDLG has hosted more than 50 Top Driver workshops around the globe over the last three years, benefitting some 15,000 professionals in the construction machinery industry. The 2017 Top Driver award ceremony was also part of SDLG’s 45th anniversary celebrations. This year, the workshop made it to four cities across China, as well as four cities in Russia.

SDLG designed this programme to better standardise machine operations and best practices across the industry. To be recognised as Top Drivers, the award recipients are required to score highly in theory and technical tests and also to have a strong work ethic.
