Deutz adds to growing engine line-up

Deutz continues to grow its engine line-up with the introduction at CONEXPO-CON/AGG of 12 and 13.5 litre engines, plus the announcement of an 18 litre range later this year. When launched, this will take the firm’s engine line-up from 2.2-18 litres, with power ratings of 25-620kW. The show also provided a first opportunity for US customers to see the company’s TCD 5.0 engine - launched last year at bauma in Munich - and the TCD 2.9 and TCD 9.0 unveiled recently at bauma China.

201 Deutz continues to grow its engine line-up with the introduction at CONEXPO-CON/AGG of 12 and 13.5 litre engines, plus the announcement of an 18 litre range later this year.

Unlike smaller engines in the line-up, the 9-18 litre engines are produced in collaboration with Liebherr. Deutz will market these Liebherr-built engines under its own brand from 2019. The in-line six-cylinder motors will provide easier installation options for machine manufacturers than the traditional Deutz V6 engines.

“Expanding our engine portfolio allows us to pursue new markets and grow our customer base,” said president and CEO Robert Mann. “The TCD 5.0 enhances the strategically important range between 100 and 150kW. In the future, our TCD 9.0 to 18.0 family will offer powerful four and six cylinder engines for heavy duty applications.”
