The new Quadri package provides a new collaboration tool for users

Quadri now supports both open formats and third-party software in a bi-directional workflow. Planners, designers and contractors can use their preferred engineering software and work in a shared, live project model. The open formats software also allows project owners to check up on their project through the same model. All changes in a project are tracked including change history. Quadri is now offered as a software-as-a-service solution for model and issue management, bundled with Trimble’s file data management system, Trimble Connect.

Quadri has been redesigned with new tools. It is now offered a software as a service solution. It has support for even open standards, Quadri Extensions with supported API’s and Quadri Connectors for open collaboration. And it is now available in a bundle together with the file data management system, Trimble Connect.

This open collaboration platform suits use with infrastructure projects such as roads. Together with Trimble Connect, Quadri enables its users to work in a centrally shared multi-user BIM server, integrated with easy to use file data management. The common data environment platform gives the customer access to information and documentation to all participants in a project. The combination of Quadri and Trimble Connect gives the customers model and issue management file data management in one package.

Innovations in construction software are helping boost project efficiency and optimising project operations – Clive Davidson writes Over the past decade, while construction engineers have been putting up buildings or infrastructure, software engineers have been developing a parallel universe where virtual buildings or infrastructure can be created in ever increasing detail. What started with 2D architectural drawings in computer-aided design (CAD) systems, has become a multi-dimensional world, with 3D ge

When Trimble first launched its Quantm software system a decade or so ago, the company was making an important step into end-to-end BIM modelling. The rules of the game were changing fast. Adrian Greeman reports When survey and machine control equipment maker Trimble bought the Australian road planning software system Quantm in 2006 it might not have realised quite what it was leading to. A decade later, Quantm is helping to put Trimble among the big players in the BIM (building information modelling) en

New advanced software is being released for use by those involved in highway design as Adrian Greeman reports. The growing importance of BIM, building or project information modelling, as a design and construction process, and not just 3D modelling, is the driving force for the latest 2012 versions of Autodesk's comprehensive range of software for civil engineers. This is reflected in a new packaging of its various software tools into suites (along the lines of Microsoft's office suites) tailored to variou
