CEI enters concrete plant market

CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies.

179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. The individually-forged forks are located by a crossbar and held in by bolts whereas, with other designs, the forks are welded into position. However, if damaged, it is easier to unbolt the forks in Lameter’s design than gouging out the weld, as needed in other designs.

    Terex Finlay has developed the J-1170 primary mobile jaw crusher. Built around the proven 1,100mmx700mm jaw crusher, the machine is intended for primary reduction and product sizing of blasted rock and ore material. The J-1170 is powered by a choice of Tier 3/Stage IIIA Caterpillar C9 engine delivering 261kW, or a Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB Scania DC9 that puts out 257kW. The jaw chamber is hydrostatically driven, offering operators a reversible action in the event of a blockage. The system also provides var
