179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. Nylacast said that its improved self-lubricating plastic components are finding new markets in North America. The plastic parts suit duties in applications such as booms for cranes, access platforms and telehandlers. Because the material is self-lubricating, it offers long wear life in this type of installation and reduces maintenance needs and costs for the machine user.

Speaking at bauma 2013, the German company’s managing director Bernd Benninghoven said the firm had developed and were trialling a new system for recycling. “In order to save valuable resources we have developed a special machine that can handle big lumps of recycling material which then separates it back into its own original structure,” he explained. “This then allows you to add as much recycling as possible which is important.
