179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. Hidromek has added long-reach options for three of its excavators – the HMK220LC, HMK300LC and the HMK370LC. Aimed at special earthmoving and drainage applications, the excavators carry LR branding and have ground level reach of 15.06, 18.19 and 16.6m respectively. Load over heights range from 10.85m with the HMK220LC LR to 12.59 with the HMK300LC LR. The long-reach HMK220LC delivers 7,300kgf of bucket digging force with a 0.45m3 bucket, with the figures rising to 1m3 and 11,400kgf with the HMK370LC LR.

The new Loadrite 360° management system has been designed to boost efficiency in quarries by integrating communication across all stages of an order for faster turnarounds and maximised payloads. Loadrite said that the system improves communication throughout the load-out operations. It is aimed at providing quarry managers with the tools they need to get the most from both staff and equipment. Benefits include lower costs per tonne and optimised truck utilisation, said the company.
