179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. The ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group claims it has taken a major step towards sustainable technology with the launch of the Conti lightweight, which can reduce the weight of fabric conveyor belts by up to 30%. “The lower weight significantly reduces the amount of drive energy needed,” explained Frank Kantorek, from the company’s business development section. “This means Conti lightweight technology makes a major contribution to the conservation of resources and protection of the environment,” he added.
The Vögele Super 1800-2 HD paver has been configured specifically for Chinese market needs. This model features an SB300HD fixed screed that features special wear plating in key areas and can be used for placing roadbase or cement-treated base, laying up to 700tonnes/hour. The chassis is slightly longer than the standard model Super 1800-2 model and its hopper is modified with a lower feed height to allow loading by the wide range of trucks used in China. Its push rollers can also be moved to reduce impact
