179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. Italian breaker and hydraulic attachment specialist Indeco reports an increase in sales in North America. Marketing director Michele Vitulano said that the company has had a particularly strong demand for its well proven steel shears in North America. And he added that business trends suggest sales for 2014 to be better than those for 2013 in North America in particular due to steady gains in industry activity.
Atlas Copco Construction Equipment is launching its new F800T tracked paver into the US market. The F800T is a 2.44m class paver and is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 diesel rated at 127kW that meets the Tier 4 Final emissions requirements. The firm says that this is a productive and stable paver for its class, while the hydraulic components are oversized with many of same units as the firm’s larger F1000 paver to ensure reliability and longevity. This will also help cut spares holding costs for fleet customer

Bobcat’s M Series mini excavators have moved to the Tier 4 emissions standard without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
