179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. Michelin has launched two additional tyres for backhoe loaders and telescopic handlers. The Power CL, which will go on sale in July this year, is a premium bias ply tyre that can handle the same load capacity as a radial, but at a lower cost. Michelin will have a full size offering for this tyre by the end of the year. Japanese engine manufacturer Kubota will use Bauma to announce its plan to build another engine plant in Wuxi City, China for the production of vertical-shaft diesel engines. This facility has 18,000 m2 of manufacturing space and will be a fully-owned subsidiary of Kubota China Holdings Co. Production levels will reach 97,000 engines a year and operations start in 2014. Once opened, Kubota will have 6 manufacturing plants around the world for diesel engines.
