179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. CTE held a successful dealer training session at bauma, aimed particularly at sharing product information including its new Zed truck-mounted articulated platforms’ variable jacking system. Other key areas of focus included the new Traccess models – which are almost ready to be presented to the market. CTE dealers were present from Russia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Australia, China and the Middle East.

Wacker Neuson has unveiled its first dual-power mini excavator, based on the 803. As well as the machine’s standard diesel engine, an external electro-hydraulic drive can be attached to the excavator through a plug-and-play connector in the undercarriage, leaving the upperstructure with full 360 degree rotation. This makes the machine ideal for use in emission-free applications like internal demolition work.
