179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. High mobility is claimed for CIFA’s mobile concrete batching plant, the CIFAMOBILE 50. “This is the first ever CIFA concrete batching plant we’ve built. It’s highly mobile and can be transported on wheels,” said Marco Brambati, director of marketing and business planning at the firm. The machine features a mixer that can produce 1/3 of concrete/cycle. Having a long tradition of CG rollers, without central articulation, but with steering on drums, Atlas Copco’s Road Construction Equipment division now launches the Dynapac CG2300 asphalt roller. The roller is 3.95m long and 3m high with an inner turning radius of 3.1m. This means transportation advantages as well as ease of working in restricted areas.
Roadtec is launching a 2.5m tamper bar screed developed by the firm’s operation in Germany. This screed has been designed as a heavy-duty, high-quality unit. It is designed to suit customer in Europe and in worldwide markets while for US customers, it will be used for RCC applications. Worldwide it will be sold on the new German-built Roadtec asphalt pavers.
