Versatility is a key feature of 178 Caterpillar’s new M317F wheeled excavator. The machine features a short tailswing design that enables it to operate on road projects next to live traffic or Jersey barriers as well as in urban locations. According to Caterpillar, the M317F wheeled excavator has been developed with this compact radius design to boost its versatility and productivity in tight working areas. Caterpillar claims however that its new compact radius wheeled excavators deliver the same capabilities and efficiencies as the standard wheeled excavators, due to careful design.
