Caterpillar’s intelligent dozer offers remote control

Caterpillar is unveiling its innovative D8T bulldozer, which can be controlled remotely from the operator station. The D8T is now available with the latest Cat Command remote control system, which comes with a choice of two operator interfaces. One of these is the portable Operator Console which is designed for line-of-sight use while the other is an ergonomically designed Operator Station that can be located remotely when the dozer is equipped with the Command Vision System. Wireless connectivity enables the operator to work from a safe location.

    Caterpillar says that its new D8 dozer benefits from an improved cab design, with better visibility and ergonomics. The new operator station is the same as already seen on the D5-D7 models and benefits from a 15 °angled seat for better comfort.
