4018 Caterpillar Paving is expanding its milling machine range with the introduction of the new PM622 model, which is aimed at the 2.2m class. Also new from the firm for the milling machine sector are the powerful PM825 for the 2.5m class and the more compact PM312 for the 1.2m class. The firm says that its new PM800 Series complements the PM600 Series and shares many components. Key features including increased engine power from the C18 diesel, now rated at 563kW instead of the 470kW for the PM622. The PM825 also has a more robust drive system to cope with the extra power and can be fitted with the 2m, 2.2m and 2.5m drums, while it suits use in difficult milling applications. Other features include increased weight and cooling capacity, which are said to allow the PM800 Series to perform under tough operating conditions. The PM300 Series has been designed to be highly versatile, for use in urban and road repair applications. This machine can be used for small to medium road milling jobs or where compact dimensions, optimum manoeuvrability and high production capabilities are required according to the firm.
