CASE Construction Equipment has launched a new C Series mini excavator line, starting with six models ranging from 1.7-6tonnes.

176 Case will launch additional C Series models during 2017, said Gaston Le Chevalier de la Sauzaye, CASE product marketing manager for mini excavators.

“The mini excavator is an essential product line for construction businesses, accounting for the biggest industry volumes by far at 53,000 units for Europe – and the market size is increasing each year. With the new C Series range, we deliver what our customers tell us they need most from this product line for their business: outstanding productivity, comfort and safety.”

The brand new C Series mini excavators are the first products resulting from the brand’s strategic alliance with HHI. The 5.7tonne and 6tonne models are being launched at one of the partner’s facilities, while the CASE Excavator Hub in San Mauro, Italy, assembles the four new models below 5tonnes for markets worldwide. Five of the six new models comply with Tier 4 Final emissions standards.

Features include an easy-to-read digital cluster that provides useful information and warning lights, the standard Engine Start Limitation (ESL) anti-theft system and the hydraulic Quick Coupler for fast attachment changes. The CX17C and CX18C can work efficiently with the greatest agility in the tightest spots. They feature hydraulically retractable tracks with inner routing of hydraulic hoses. When the tracks are retracted, the machines are less than one metre wide. The CX17C features a Zero Tail Swing design, which ensures there is no risk of hitting an obstacle with the back of the machine when swinging, it can work effectively and safely in the most confined spaces.

Case said their powerful hydraulic flow delivers 5% higher efficiency than the previous models. The auto shift-down function on the CX17C, which optimises traction and speed and the joystick controlled auxiliary hydraulics enable the operator to get the job done even faster. The CX26C and CX37C are available with a choice of long and short arms. For the CX26C maximum dig depths are 2,645mm and 2,420mm, while for the CX37C dig depths 3,440mm and 3,135mm. They are available with additional counterweights and rubber tracks. Steel tracks are also available on the CX37C.

The CX57C and CX60C are the top of the new range and feature the best instrument cluster on the market, according to CASE. They offer a multicolour 14.5cm LCD touchscreen. The convenient hands-free system with USB and AUX ports, SD card reader and 12V power outlet make it easy to integrate most modern mobile devices.

The C Series will be featured at CONEXPO 2017 in Las Vegas in March. CASE Construction Equipment is a brand of CNH Industrial, based in the Netherlands.
