Available in North America from early 2015, the CX350D is said to offer significant advances in power, fuel savings, operation and control. The CX350D features an innovative combination of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) technologies, helping maximise uptime and performance. In coordination with advances in hydraulic control and function, this combination is said to provide up to 10% more fuel efficiency, up to 8% faster cycle times, and improved digging force and lift capacity.

Weighing in at 37.37tonnes, the CX350D features an arm digging force of 16.77tonnes and a bucket digging force of 23.42tonnes. The ‘Auto Power Up’ function increases the digging forces to 18.23tonnes and 25.46tonnes, respectively. Dependent on arm configuration, the CX350D’s maximum reach exceeds 10.05m, while the maximum digging depth exceeds 7.92m.

Speaking at the Case Conexpo 2014 press conference, Peter White, Case’s director of global product quality, said one of the greatest challenges related to Tier 4 technologies had been the trade-off between reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM). Most methods employed to reduce NOx typically increase PM, and vice versa. However, the CX350D’s CEGR and SCR technologies work with fuel injection controls to limit NOx, while a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), VG turbo system and high pressure injection system help limit particulate matter.

The new Case CX350D hydraulic excavator features many of the hydraulic and control features of the C Series models — including the Case Intelligent Hydraulic System. Advances have also been made to make the machine significantly more powerful and efficient. These include a new electrically controlled hydraulic pump that controls flow based on working condition, and auto-idle, auto shut down and boom down energy save (BES) functions.

The newest addition to Ruthmann’s Height series offers flexible access in awkward situations thanks to its extended telescoping upper boom with moveable jib. Ruthmann’s Steiger T 720 truck-mounted access platform made its world debut at bauma. The model has a working height of up to 72m and maximum lateral reach of 38m. Its design means that operators still have 21.4m reach at their disposal at a working height of 68m and with a 100kg cage load.

  • Our new screening buckets won’t clog, says Allu
    January 6, 2017
Allu has added three new models to its range of screening buckets. The Allu DL series has been designed for excavators between 4 and 12tonnes and loaders between 2 and 8tonnes. The design of the DL series bucket’s top screen ensures that it won’t clog, even with wet materials, according to the manufacturer. The screening blades and top screens can be changed to vary the size of the end product, which is dependent on the spacing between the combs.
