Bridgestone shows world’s largest tyre

With its 5.2tonne weight, 4.022metre height and 1.46metre width, Bridgestone’s 59/80R63 is said to be the world’s largest tyre. Less of a show-stopper but equally important is the firm’s announcement of homologation for the 33.25 R29 VLTS E2A earthmover tyre to fit Volvo’s A60H articulated dump truck. This E4 category tyre is said to offer a longer life, provide better load distribution and a greater depth of tread than the VLT E3 version currently in use.
