BKT’s EARTHMAX SR 468 & EARTHMAX SR 53 L-5 tyres

BKT’s best-performing tyres are designed for maximum strength, durability, and safety even under the most demanding operating conditions, such as quarrying, mining and heavy construction projects.

One of the real stars is the EARTHMAX SR 468, a large radial tyre specifically developed for trucks. Thanks to BKT's advanced technology, this pattern has been designed to carry heavy loads while providing resistance against rock cuts and punctures. The innovative tread design ensures durability and high performance even under severe conditions.

Another flagship BKT product is the EARTHMAX SR 53 L-5, designed for loading operations, underground mining, and demolition. Its extra-deep L-5 tread and the special cut-resistant compound ensure extended wear resistance, exceptional traction plus outstanding stability.

Two of the other standout tyres from the Indian global off-highway machine tyre giant are the rigid dump truck (RDT)-suited EARTHMAX SR 48 and EARTHMAX SR 459 tyres. The former is an All-Steel tyre with a strong steel casing and square shoulder make it extremely resistant to cuts and damage, improving traction and durability even in rocky environments. The EARTHMAX SR 459 tyre is ideal for RDTs operating in quarries and open-pit mines. Its symmetrical design allows for front and rear axle mounting, while the tread depth offers superior casing protection without compromising TKPH values for long tyre life. Providing  excellent traction on different types of terrain, including muddy grounds, in addition to great operator comfort, it is one of the most cutting-edge solutions in BKT’s tyre range for the OTR (Off-The-Road) sector.

Erlau has chosen bauma 2013 to mark the 70th year since Erlau TPC says it invented the tyre protection chain. A small drawing registered by Erlau in 1943 marks a pivotal moment in the history of bulk materials handling. At that time mining methods were changing as the lumbering steam shovels, rope-operated excavators and horse-drawn rail tubs, which had themselves superseded the pick and shovel, were being replaced by wheeled, hydraulic loading shovels and tipper-bodied trucks.
