Several mountain bikers in Spain recently underwent a painful experience when riding off-road. The men were attacked by a massive swarm of bees while taking part in the Tropical Bike Motril competition. A number of the cyclists jumped off their bikes while being attacked, with five having to be treated in hospital afterwards. One of the cyclists was stung 80 times.

According to data from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in the US, ATV injuries led to over 2 million visits to hospital emergency departments in the period between 2000 and 2015.
