The owner of an expensive Range Rover may have reason to regret trying to help another driver in the UK recently. The Range Rover owner spotted that the driver of a van had managed to get the vehicle stuck on a beach. Keen to help, the Range Rover owner drove his 4WD onto the beach and attempted to tow the van free. However, things did not go exactly to plan as the Range Rover also became stuck on the beach. With the tide coming in fast, the owner of the Range Rover and the van driver had to watch helplessly as their vehicles became swamped. When the Range Rover owner tried to call for assistance, he then realised that he had also dropped his phone on the beach, alongside his car. Both vehicles were later recovered but the costly Range Rover suffered serious damage in the process.

An elderly British driver was charged with dangerous driving by police after he mistakenly drove his car onto the platform of a railway station. The man explained that he must have taken a wrong turn. Witnesses pointed out that he drove his car 200m up a footpath that was clearly marked. The man then drove his car almost the full length of the platform and at times was close to the edge and in danger of falling onto the busy commuter line leading to London. Waiting rail passengers had to scramble out of the
