Barin's new ATC 850 working platform
RSSItalian company, 7067 Barin Italy which designs and constructs access equipment of various types and complexity, has developed a new state-of-the-art aerial work platform.

Designed for checking and maintenance of road galleries and overlaps, the ATC 850 can be mounted on a truck with a total load of 12tonnes, and is able to reach working heights up to 5-10m (measured from the road surface).

The working platform can translate laterally up to 1m from both sides of the vehicle and is very stable. The 2m wide, 4.8m long unit's height elevation is operated hydraulically, and its working load on board varies from 500-750kg, depending on the model.

Specialist supplier LASE commissioned the LaseTVM tool on a road construction site for contractor EuroTransStroy at a construction site in St Petersburg, Russia. The laser-based measurement system is able to determine the volume of bulk materials such as sand and crushed stones with high accuracy. This can be used to prevent differences in loads from one truck to another, so as to ensure consistency. The system also identifies truck license plates and the load area, providing comprehensive data collation.

The new crawler version of Moog’s MBI 50 unit has been designed especially for operation on narrow pedestrian bridges. With the load distribution on two crawlers it is possible to stick to a minimum area load even though the overall width is 1.6m and the weight 3,000kg. This makes it possible to work on bridges that are rated low-weight only.

Effective washing processes are crucial to providing quality materials. Materials washing specialist CDE is offering three updated machines, the Evowash, the M2500 and the Agg Max 83R. All three machines have benefitted from improvements compared to previous versions but the Evowash unit features the most changes, including two ideas with patents pending. “We have been evolving the Evowash ever since we invented it 20 years ago, hence its name,” said Iain Walker, technical sales manager for the Middle East.
