Avant Tecno USA introduced its full line of compact multi-function loaders at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017.

The company held a demonstration where the featured articulated compact loader, the Avant 635, stayed steady even when on very uneven terrain. “It has a really low centre of gravity,” said Jani Kakela, executive vice president of the company.

To prove the point the machine parked at a steep angle while two men hung from it. Still, it didn’t tip.

The 635 operator also swapped out an attachment in a matter of seconds.

Another noteworthy feature is the machine’s plastic top cover, which improves visibility. “It’s not at the expense of durability,” Kakela said as an operator pounded on the plastic - to no effect.

The boom is off-centre to enable visibility when lifting the bucket or working with tools, such as hydraulic hammers.

The loaders are small enough to work productively indoors and can be lifted onto roofs. The telescopic boom also enables versatility.

The machines work in applications ranging from demolition to building construction. “These machines can take it,” Kakela said. “They’re tough even though they’re small.”

Avant Tecno USA is a subsidiary of Avant Tecno Corp, headquartered in Finland. The company entered the North American market about five years ago. This year marks its first participation at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

The smallest loaders are the 200 series, with a weight of 698 kg, lift capacity of 350 kg and reach of 1397 mm. The largest loaders, the 700 Series, weigh 2105 kg, have lift capacity of 1728 kg and reach of 3100 mm.
