Atlas 1404 ZW excavator has high traction with low tire wear

The 7985 Atlas 1404 ZW rail-road excavator features a new computer-aided system that ensures optimal contact pressure with rails, thereby providing the highest traction capacity at the lowest tyre wear.

With an operating weight of 20,000 kg (44092 lbs), a 95 kW (130 hp) engine and a maximum dig depth of 4.3m, the 1404 ZW is adaptable and flexible for an array of applications from cutting works to dismantling and upgrading railway track. Furthermore, the excavator can be equipped with almost any hydraulic attachment tool due to its ideal pressure/oil volume ratio, claims the company.

Other features include optimised stability and safety, and an automatic self-diagnosis system and operator-friendly handling.

Atlas Copco Construction Tools now offers six new hydraulic compactor attachments designed for use on excavators ranging in weight from 1-40tonnes. A key innovation for the HC range is a housing attachment that can be offset at 15°, which improves the distribution of forces on the vibrator plate while reducing stress and wear. The firm says that the compactors are virtually maintenance-free due to a PermanentLube continuous lubrication system. The integrated flow rate and pressure control protects these uni
