ADM is exhibiting its EX Series asphalt plants with single-drum counterflow technology at CONEXPO 2014
Claimed by 1253 Asphalt Drum Mixers (ADM) to offer high efficiency and a compact design for contractors with low to medium production needs, the U.S. firm will be showcasing its new EX Series asphalt plants with single-drum counterflow technology at Conexpo-CON/AGG 2014.

The EX Series asphalt plants are said to produce between just over 90 to 385.5tonnes/hour at a very low cost per tonne. They are also claimed by ADM to boast the longest aggregate drying and mixing times in the industry, while also capable of processing high percentages of RAP.

Using counterflow technology, the EX Series has separate drying and mixing zones to achieve the maximum level of heat transfer and fuel efficiency. Furthermore, this system is said by Huntertown, Indiana-based ADM to virtually eliminate unsafe hydrocarbon emissions, which are a common problem with other drum mix plants. To make the plants even more environmentally friendly, ADM designed the system to reintroduce residual gases back to the drum’s combustion zone.

Available in portable or stationary versions, EX Series plant Controls are said to be sophisticated in their abilities, yet simple in operation. The EX Series can be operated by just one plant operator and one loader operator. The plants are also built with durability and low maintenance in mind, so on-site staff is able to handle most breakdown issues.

A wide range of components further customises each plant for particular customer needs. Available individual components include cold feed bins, hot oil asphalt cement tanks (both horizontal and vertical), direct-fired horizontal cement tanks, portable and stationary bag houses, mineral filler systems, RAP systems, self-erect and stationary silos, weigh and drag conveyors, weigh batchers and fuel oil tanks.

Each ADM EX Series plant can be custom designed to meet the requirements of individual sites.

High mobility is claimed for CIFA’s mobile concrete batching plant, the CIFAMOBILE 50. “This is the first ever CIFA concrete batching plant we’ve built. It’s highly mobile and can be transported on wheels,” said Marco Brambati, director of marketing and business planning at the firm. The machine features a mixer that can produce 1/3 of concrete/cycle. This DNA 1.0 mixer is the smallest in the CIFA range (while the largest has a 3m3 capacity) and can deliver up to 50m3/hour of ready-mixed concrete. The plant
