Zoomlion said that it will boost employment by 80 people at its Solferino base as production needs increase

After organisational restructuring, Zoomlion said it will eventually increase employment by 80 people at its new plant in Solferino, northern Italy as production needs increase.

“The strategy of the Zoomlion group is to be present in a market of great potential for the lifting and logistics sectors such as the European one, with a local structure based in Italy,” said Davide Cipolla, chief executive of CIFA and Zoomlion Europe. “This is thanks to reliable, high-performance and mature products for Europe and the know-how and experience of CIFA,”

Meanwhile, Zoomlion announced that Petre Babiceanu is the new general manager of Zoomlion Europe. He is heading up development and coordination of the tower crane, mobile crane, forklift and aerial platform businesses – all of which are designed and made entirely in Italy.

The arrival of Babiceanu is part of a development plan for Zoomlion Europe, founded in 2018 as a European hub for the production and distribution of Zoomlion-branded products. This has been made possible with significant investment, considerable technical expertise and the sales network of CIFA, owned by Zoomlion since 2008, according to Zoomlion.

Babiceanu said he sees expansion of the company in the European market as big opportunity given quickening pace of the roll-back of COVID 19 pandemic. “The success of Zoomlion Europe is sealed with the support of an historic Italian company such as CIFA which has always stood out for creativity and performance and which belongs to a rapidly expanding group ranking among the top five in the world,” he said.

“We know the needs of European customers and expect to complete the portfolio of after-sales products and services with tailor-made financing solutions offered by the group's financial company Zoomlion Capital."
