ZF looks to the future with HVT and hybrid technology

2304 ZF will focus on efficiency and reducing fuel consumption at this year’s show. The transmission and driveline component manufacturer will present its Ergopower efficiency package that combines the cPower continuously variable transmission with the ZF Hybrid module that should be commercially available in the future. cPower is a hydromechanical variable transmission that combines hydrostatic drive pumps with a mechanical powershift gearbox. Available for use in a range of machines, including wheeled loaders, telehandlers, graders and wheeled excavators, ZF claims that HVT can save up to 25% in fuel costs. The firm’s hybrid system will be able to be used with all forms of ZF transmission and could be incorporated in the transmission or separately in the machine for additional fuel consumption benefits.
Dressta is now offering versions of its well-proven bulldozer range equipped with Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emission compliant engines. The TD-25, TD-20, TD-15 and TD-14 class dozers will all be available with Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emission rated diesels during 2013. Models brought to bauma by Soilmec included two new multipurpose hydraulic crawler cranes for heavy-duty applications. Among key features of the SC-70 and SC-90 is a design that enables easy transport and set-up on site. The cranes are modular for fast conversion between a range of applications, such as use with a hydraulic or mechanical grab, hydromill, chisel, vibratory driver or clamshell. New Tier 4 engines are available.

Hidromek is offering an improved excavator series and plans to introduce a new top-of-the-range machine later this year. Export manager Anil Bingöl said, “We are preparing a 50tonne class machine.” He added that this will be offered with a Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions rating only, although full specifications of the machine have yet to be revealed.
