The newest addition to 3285 Ruthmann’s Height series offers flexible access in awkward situations thanks to its extended telescoping upper boom with moveable jib.

Ruthmann’s Steiger T 720 truck-mounted access platform made its world debut at bauma. The model has a working height of up to 72m and maximum lateral reach of 38m.

Its design means that operators still have 21.4m reach at their disposal at a working height of 68m and with a 100kg cage load. The T 720’s flexibility allows work to be carried out behind obstructions, including electric cables, pipes, and building fronts.

Work can also be carried out at depths up to 12m below ground thanks to the agility of the Rüssel jib system and the telescoping and rotating features of the working cage.

Like its existing smaller siblings in the series – the T460 and T 540 – the T 720 is designed to give customers the benefits of the extra length. Ruthmann said that operators now have an extra 5.5m of upper boom length compared to previous models in this class, giving nearly 20m overall length for the upper telescoping boom system.

A new feature for Ruthmann Steiger models in this class is that the four outriggers of the T 720 can be controlled individually from the rear on both sides of the vehicle. This has been designed to facilitate better judgement when jacking and to increase safety on site. Ruthmann said that easier positioning of the outrigger pads also greatly reduces set-up time.

The T 720’s truck has compact dimensions with total vehicle length of just 13.7m.

Later this year, Ruthmann will be adding two more models to the series.
