The World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo was held in St Louis, Missouri for the first time ever. The event was a success. From March 25-27, more than 11,500 industry professionals gathered at the America’s Center Convention Complex to explore the latest innovations, network with peers, and enjoy the Gateway City.

Of those attendees, 59% were under the age of 45 - reflecting the positive future of the industry, while 10% were women - underscoring this growing segment of the industry.

Visitors travelled from across the US and abroad, some travelling as far as Australia, the UK, Argentina, and Mexico to take part in the asphalt and aggregates trade show and conference, including a special delegation from Nigeria.

The 2025 event featured a record amount of space, demonstrating the growth in cutting-edge equipment and technologies from exhibitors. The exhibit floor spanned some 21,400m2 of the America’s Center Convention Complex; an increase of around 10% compared to the 2024 event in Nashville, Tennessee.
“This success is a direct result of the collaboration and hard work of all our partners, exhibitors, and staff,” said World of Asphalt Show Director Brittany Schmidtke. “The momentum and growth in the asphalt and aggregates industry is evident by what we saw exhibited on the show floor and ultimately provided a richer experience for our attendees.”

The even was organised and managed by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).

Attendees engaged in more than 120 educational sessions through the People, Plants, and Paving & AGG1 Academy. These conferences covered a wide range of topics essential to the asphalt and aggregates industries.

Lucas Evett with Rose Paving, experienced his first World of Asphalt and AGG1, and said the education sessions are something every attendee should participate in.

“It’s worth it. It’s going to help progress your business, how you interact with people and the day-to-day operations.”

A few of the most popular sessions included “Lean Principles: It’s About People, Process & Change,” “Unleashing the Power of Intentional Leadership: Leading Yourself to Lead Others”, “Autonomous Quarry Trucks 101”, “Extreme Ownership for Business and Life”, “Laydown Best Practices”, and “Compaction 101: Doing the Right Things, the Right Way.”

Sustainability was explicit or implicit in many presentations during EAPA’s biennial symposium for the paving supply chain. The industry feels that sustainability is its home territory, thanks to an already good – and getting even better - record of recycling of materials. But do buyers and users of roads realise that the design and contrac

Complete implementation of 3D machine control systems ensured that K A Aurstad became one of Norway’s fastest growing and in-demand contractors because of effective production improvement in both quality and accuracy. Combine this with web-based project hubs and machines can then start work on the correct project only minutes after the latest design leaves the drawing board. The use of machine control is important for K A Aurstad, based in Sunnmøre and whose 140 or more employees work in heavy constru
