The work on the construction of the next stretch of the A100 motorway in Berlin, Germany, is about to start. The project is expected to cost €473 million (US$616.72mn) and be completed by 2020.
Plans for Vietnam’s North-South expressway are progressing, with work moving ahead for key portions of the route’s eastern spur. A feasibility study has been carried out for the 29km Nha Trang-Cam Lam stretch, which is planned as a PPP project and is expected to cost around US$225 million. Plans are in hand in Algeria for work to commence on the first sections of the Hauts-Plateaux highways, with tenders now being prepared. The Ministry for Public Works has revealed that construction work for the first stretches of the highway will be likely to get underway in June 2014. The technical specifications for the project are still in the process of being determined. Expectations are for strong bidding for the 30km sections of the highway being put out to tender.
