Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
East African countries continue to implement a road Master Plan developed jointly under the East African Community initiative and which aims at integrating the region’s transport corridors to meet the growing demand for road transport by the increasing intra-regional trade and vehicular traffic.
Kenya has for example unveiled a US$280 million road rehabilitation project to improve its links with Tanzania and South Sudan with the backing of the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Work is now complete on the US$76.3 million highway project providing a key link between the North and the South of Vietnam at Da Nang city. This 13km project was carried out by Spanish contractor OHL, having been awarded in 2014 by Vietnam Expressway Corporation. Financing for the work came from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Meanwhile OHL is also building a 544m viaduct over the Lanch Tray River in Vietnam that will provide a new link to the coastal city of Hai Phong.
A series of major road projects is now getting underway in Poland, while tenders for new projects are also opening. Estimates suggest that the construction of six new ring-roads in the Opolszczyzna region will cost some €356 million. These ring roads all form part of the 2014-2023 National Road Construction Programme. The first projects to be carried out will be for the ring-roads around Mysliny and Niemodlina. In all, the National Road Construction Programme will include the building of 57 ring-roads.
