Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
New road building work for two key links in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam is expected to cost US$124 million. Truong Chinh street and Tan Ky Tan Quy street will be widened to boost capacity and cut congestion. The former will feature five to six lanes in either direction once the work is complete. The latter will feature three lanes in either direction once the work is complete. Considerable site clearance work will have to be carried out for the work to go ahead.
Construction work is underway on a key bridge connection in Vietnam. The Cao Lanh Bridge is located in Vietnam’s Dong Thap Province and its construction is costing an estimated US$145 million.
Vietnam has seen steady improvement in road safety, with the number of traffic related fatalities dropping below 9,000 in 2014. This is the first time the country’s fatality rate has dropped below 9,000 for a number of years. Official data shows that some provinces have successfully lowered down the number of traffic accidents by over 20% in 2014, compared with the previous year.
