Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
The completion date has been announced for sections of Vietnam’s key road project. The North-South Expressway project is being built in eight stretches with the work being handled under the PPP model. Vietnam’s transport ministry is aiming for sections of the route to be built by the second quarter of 2020. Funding worth US$5.09 billion has been secured for the project.

A Taiwanese-owned construction company will build a new road in Vietnam’s Quang Hing Province. The new road will measure 20km long and will connect Ha Long City and Bach Dang Bridge. Costing close to US$276 million to construct, the road will connect with the existing Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway. A new 225km expressway link in Vietnam will help boost connectivity between the Mekong Delta area in the south east of the country and Ha Tien Province. The project for the Ha Tien-Rach Gia-Bac Lieu expressway is expected to cost US$1.2 billion. A new bridge project in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City will help cut traffic congestion. The project is expected to cost in the region of US$157 million and four contractors will work on the construction of the 3.2km long Bình Tiên Bridge. The plans call for the bridge to carry four traffic lanes and be from 30-40m wide, although the design has yet to be finalised.
