Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
The authorities in Vietnam are planning several key infrastructure projects, including the new Cho Chien Bridge and improvements to Provincial Road No15 amongst others. The new Cho Chien Bridge will connect Ben Tre and Vinh Long provinces and this is expected to cost in the region of US$182 million. The project will now be carried out under the PPP model instead of a BOT scheme, which had been envisaged earlier in the planning stage. Work on Vietnam’s 3.1km Phuoc Khanh cable stayed bridge will start in August after a deal was signed with the government in June.
The contract was signed by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation and a consortium made up of Japanese contractor Sumitomo Mitsui and local partner Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (Cienco 4).
