WN’s steer in right direction

Wacker Neuson presents new ‘steering logic’ DT25 crawler-mounted dumper at INTERMAT 2012
It might be logical to think that bigger construction machines will be harder to steer – but then there’s the 1651 Wacker Neuson DT25 crawler-mounted dumper.
The largest in the five-strong DT series of crawler-mounted dumpers, the DT25 comes with in-built ‘steering logic’. On sensitive surfaces or restricted spaces, the driver doesn’t need to turn, merely having to rotate the seat through 180°, and is always driving in the direction in which they’re moving the joystick.

The DT25 has a loading capacity of up to 2.5tonnes and is equipped with fully hydrostatic traction drive. This, with either a powerful diesel or gasoline engine, is said by Wacker Neuson to guarantee excellent manoeuvrability even on difficult terrain.

Following the success of its 8MCR high-speed compact excavator, Mecalac has developed a larger, heavier model, called the 10MCR. Like the smaller machine introduced in 2009, this new model combines the speed and manoeuvrability of a skid steer loader with the functionality of a midi excavator. Weighing in at nine tones and using a 75kW turbocharged diesel engine, the new model retains Mecalac’s MCR concept and uses a triangular track frame profile, which affords fast travel speeds in both directions usin
