The new XR 80 attachment for excavation and demolition, live at INTERMAT 2012

3766 Xcentric Ripper International claims its new XR 80 attachment for excavation and demolition is more productive than any hydraulic breaker in 85% of construction job applications.

Being launched at INTERMAT 2012, the XR 80 is one of eight excavation and demolition attachments in the XR range. All are developed with Xcentric Ripper’s patented impact vibration accumulation technology.

The company says the energy chamber on all its XR attachments’ cannot be affected or damaged by site dust, water or dirt. This means, they claim, that they can work without problem in even the most severe conditions in tunnels and foundations, as well as muddy and wet places. Under water work in harbours, canals and open sea is also suitable for XR equipment. Xcentric Ripper says the durability of its XR range can dramatically reduce client maintenance and repair costs normally associated with construction projects in tough working environments.

The XR 80, for excavators weighing 75 to 120 tonnes, has an operating weight of 9,500kg and operating pressure of 240bar. The unit has recently been sold to a Belgian Dredging company for underwater work on a pontoon near Australia.

The remainder of the XR range was launched in Europe at 688 Bauma, and to the rest of the world at 3485 Conexpo in Las Vegas, United States last year. Xcentric Ripper says strongest sales to date have been in Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, and Mexico.
