Vitronic Machine Vision Middle East, a subsidiary of the German machine vision expert 2879 Vitronic, has deployed a sophisticated calibration stand for laser systems in Dubai. The device supports annual inspection of laser speed and red light systems as required by law in most European countries. The company claims it is the first manufacturer offering calibration technology for laser systems in the Middle East.

Explaining that, up to now, calibration was always conducted in Germany, Youssef Al Hansali, CEO of Vitronic Machine Vision Middle East, said, “With the new calibration stand we are able to apply highest international standards for maintaining and supporting Vitronic’s laser based products, while saving valuable time on maintenance and calibration. This allows more deployments and more road safety for all Middle East road users.”

Vitronic says it has more than 220 LIDAR-based systems for speed and red light enforcement as well as for automated license plate recognition currently operating in the Middle East region. Prominent users include Dubai Police, Abu Dhabi Police and Saudi Aramco.
