Vinci selected for Strasbourg's western beltway

Vinci has won the contract to create the greater Strasbourg western beltway. Sanef was not selected to build the 24km toll motorway despite a lower bid of US$529.8million, as opposed to $661.7million for Vinci. Subventions requested by Sanef were also lower at $26.4million, as opposed to $43.6million for Vinci. The land granted to Vinci for the project is 100 hectares more than Sanef's bid.     The French government has inked an agreement with infrastructure groups Vinci, APRR and Sanef for a major €800 million motorway investment plan. The agreement encompasses 32 upgrading projects for highway interchanges and 25 construction projects to provide motorway service stops devoted to car-pooling.
