Vietnam’s road crashes drop

Vietnam has seen a drop in the number of reported road crashes. The National Traffic Safety Committee of Vietnam reported that 7,185 people were killed by crashes between the 16th December 2014 and the 15th October 2015. There were 18,437 crashes during this period, a drop of 3.9% for the same period in the previous year. The data shows that 16,755 people were injured in crashes during the 10-month period.     IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) director Neil Greig said “much more” needed to be done to sustain an encouraging drop in the latest published quarterly road casualty statistics for the UK. The latest Department for Transport figures revealed 400 people were killed in road accidents in Britain between April-June 2012 – down 18% than the 487 killed over the same period of 2011.     FRENCH ROADS have seen a drop in fatal accidents. In the first quarter of 2010, 827 people were killed in road accidents in France, a fall of 6.2% compared with the same period for 2009.
