Vietnam's key coastal highway

A major new highway project is starting shortly in Vietnam, which will improve the country's links with its neighbours. The US$440 million project is for a 220km highway in the Mekong Delta and will eventually form part of a 1,000km road connecting Vietnam with Cambodia and Thailand.

RSSA major new highway project is starting shortly in Vietnam, which will improve the country's links with its neighbours. The US$440 million project is for a 220km highway in the Mekong Delta and will eventually form part of a 1,000km road connecting Vietnam with Cambodia and Thailand. Called the Vietnam-Cambodia-Thailand Southern Coastal Road Corridor, the project is being part-funded by the 943 Asian Development Bank (ADB). Additional aid for the project is being provided by the Australian and South Korean Governments. Meanwhile the country is considering using the PPP investment model for its new Long Thanh-Ben Luc highway project. 2560 Vietnam's Ministry of Transport says that the 58km highway will cost some $1.7 billion. The road will feature four lanes in all with two running in either direction and is being planned by the 3177 Vietnam Expressway Corporation.
