Elevated highways stretching 34.5km in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City may be developed at US$2.68 billion. The Prime Minister and the Ministry of Transport are tweaking the project in a move to lure investors. None have come forward at present.
The Italian-Thai Development Corporation entered into a US$1.062 billion contract with China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) for building the elevated expressway.
In Vietnam work is now being carried out on a new highway to connect southern province to Central Highlands, while progress is being achieved on the Ca Pass Tunnel project. A 200km highway has been proposed that will link Dong Nai province with Lam Dong province.
