If you ever have to outrun the police in a vehicle chase, forget about using a car, or motorcycle or scooter. Use a bicycle, as this suspect somewhere in America did. It looks like he made it, too.

    Police in the US state of Connecticut had to search for a man who repeatedly bashed his car into a filling station so that he could break into the building. The man was then seen stealing a banana, which he ate at the scene of the crime shortly before departing from the premises in his now rather battered Ford SUV. An inspection of the filling station’s CCTV system plainly showed the vehicle hitting the building and the man entering the property, stealing the banana and then leaving the premises.

    The latest official figures on road safety in Europe are giving cause for concern, with data showing casualty reduction has slowed. EU Transport Commissioner Siim Kallas recently announced a disappointing progress on casualty reduction on Europe's roads. The joint European police association, TISPOL, has added that it is also concerned that improvements in cutting fatalities on Europe’s roads significantly slowed in 2011.

    A Russian skateboarder had a very close call when being filmed in a high speed stunt by a friend. The skateboarder was descending a twisty road and travelling at some speed but misjudged a corner, cutting it too tightly and crashing head-on into an oncoming car. Luckily he did not suffer injuries more serious than cuts and bruises as well as a dented ego and the vehicle was also undamaged.
